7-Eleven Introduces Slurpee Flavored Doughnuts

What’s better than a soft, sugary 7-Eleven doughnut and a brain-freezing, tongue-staining Wild Cherry Slurpee? A Wild Cherry Slurpee flavored doughnut, of course!
As part of the ongoing celebration of Slurpee’s 50th anniversary, this week 7-Eleven introduced its brand new Wild Cherry Slurpee Donut (sorry Dunkin’ fans, we can only abide this “donut” spelling when using the proper name). This magnificent culinary invention boasts a thick coating of reddish-pink, wild cherry-flavored icing topped with a generous layer of icy-looking sugar crystals—all for just 99 cents! Add another dollar to go full-on Hamptonites-gone-wild cherry and get a Wild Cherry Slurpee along with it, for dipping, no doubt.
The doughnuts will only be available for a limited time (through May 3, 2016), and that may be even more limited by the day.
7-Eleven in Southampton says they’ve already stopped offering Wild Cherry Slurpee Donuts due to lack of sales, but all hope is not lost. Despite having five still hanging around at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, the Sag Harbor 7-Eleven says they have no plans to stop selling the fleeting delicacy.
Remember the McDonald’s Hula Burger? How about Salsa Rio Doritos? How about Reese’s Elvis Peanut Butter Banana Creme Cups? In a short time, the Wild Cherry Slurpee Donut will surely be another faded memory relegated to wistful, nostalgic conversations about the good old days.
And while the sugar crystals may look and feel like chomping down on Slurpee ice crystals, there’s no chance of getting brain freeze, so eat as many as you can, as quickly as you can, before these treasures are gone.
