Hamptons Designer Show Houses and Home Tours Return
Synonymous with Hamptons summers is luxury and glamour—and big houses filled with both. Step inside some of the Hamptons most ritzy, glitzy properties for a tour to benefit a local nonprofit and take a look at how the one-tenth of one percent lives.
Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF) is gearing up for its 7th Annual ARF Designer Show House and Sale fundraising event on Saturday, May 27. Top interior decorators will transform the ARF Thrift & Treasure Shop at 17 Poxabogue Lane in Sagaponack into a designer showhouse, using furnishings from the shop and from their own collections. Designers include Rachael Ray Home, Irving & Fine for John Rosselli, Tamara Fraser from Worth Interiors, Cathy Kincaid and Cathy Kincaid from Interiors, Inc., Richard Keith Langham, Jeff Lincoln Interiors, Inc., Kathryn’s Flower Gardens, Ann Pyne and Iris Zonlight from Blue Ocean Design. Bring your checkbook because everything is on sale with all proceeds going to support the ARF Adoption Center in Wainscott! The event begins Saturday evening with a preview cocktail party featuring wine donated by Channing Daughters Winery and hors d’oeuvres by Fig & Pig. An Exclusive Preview Hour begins at 5 p.m. ($250). General Admission opens at 6 p.m. and goes until 8 p.m. ($150). The Southampton Historical Museum will be hosting it’s 8th Annual Southampton House Tour. This “insider’s view,” takes place on Saturday, June 3, offering a rare opportunity to pass behind the hedges and through the doors of some of the most beautiful and historically important homes on the East End. Tour participants will have the opportunity to experience extraordinary houses that illustrate Southampton’s unique architectural history from colonial days to present. The tour begins at 1 p.m. at the Thomas Halsey Homestead at 249 South Main Street and will then proceed throughout the village. A champagne reception catered by Sant Ambroeus will follow the tour at 4:30 p.m. at the Rogers Mansion. The event is sponsored by The Corcoran Group and Sant Ambroeus Restauran. The Hampton Designer Showhouse, the showcase for America’s premier design talent, returns to Southampton with a Gala Preview Cocktail Party at the Showhouse on Saturday, July 22 from 6–8:30 p.m. The Showhouse will be open to the public Sunday, July 23 through Labor Day, Monday, September 4, 2017. Now in its 17th year, the event will feature more than 35 top interior designers and decorative artists from the Hamptons, New York and nationwide. This year’s Showhouse will take place in two magnificent Hamptons homes located in The Fields in Southampton, on Rosko Lane, which have been donated for the purpose by Paramount Custom Homes. The Hampton Designer Showhouse hours will be as follows: Monday through Sunday, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. (last admission will be allowed 30 minutes before closing). Children 6 and under, infants, strollers and pets are not admitted to the Showhouse. Admission is $40 and includes the Showhouse Journal. Gala tickets are $225 each. The Friends of the John Jermain Library Hour Tour is back on Friday, July 7 from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. All the houses participating in the tour will be manned by volunteers ready to provide all sorts of interesting and historical information. Tickets are $55 on the day of tour, $50 in advance, and are available at the John Jermain Library (201 Main Street) in Sag Harbor and at the Wharf Shop (69 Main Street), also in Sag Harbor. The Bridgehampton Historical Museum is hosting its own tour of historic buildings on Saturday, June 17. Four churches along Montauk Highway will open to the public: The Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church, a new addition to New York State’s Register of Historic Places; St. Anne’s Episcopal Church; Queen of the Most Holy Rosary; and Iglesia Faro A Las Naciones. The museum will also have the Corwith House, Beebee Windmill and the Nathaniel Rogers House open for tours. All tours will be free and open to the public.
