The Jedediah Hawkins Inn, Restaurant & Speakeasy in Jamesport has a new executive chef from the West Village, Jessica O’Brien. “Chef Jess,” as she’s known to private clients, previously worked for Chef April Bloomfield at the John Dory and Spotted Pig Restaurants and then at Le Cirque, before becoming a private chef for the New York-Hamptons crowd. The new chef has changed the menu and added an outdoor weekend raw bar. Actor Ralph Macchio dined there two weeks ago with his family.

Oreya Restaurant at the Capri in Southampton re-opened Memorial Day weekend following an imaginative redesign and extensive build-out of its dining room, outdoor lounge, cocktail bar and pool designed by Chris Kofitsas of New World Design Builders. The restaurant also launched its outdoor Oreya Lounge with Frederick Lesort and Philippe Olivier Bondon featuring Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque Champagne and music by dance-pop duo, Glassio on Friday, May 26.

Legendary editor Suzanne Rafer was spotted by a fan at Pierre’s in Bridgehampton last Friday afternoon. Most famous for her work on the Silver Palate cookbooks and What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Rafer was importuned by her follower to sign a copy of a more recent work—The Mom 100 by Katie Workman.

Rumor has it that world famous restaurant critic Gael Greene will be dining in the Hamptons again soon on one of her tasting tours.
