Mayoral candidate Jerry Larsen has secured 15,000 face masks that will be distributed this weekend, he announced April 27. Larsen, the former longtime village police chief, and his running mates on the NewTown Party line, Sandra Melendez and Chris Minardi, will distribute the masks Saturday and Sunday, from 12 to 4 PM, in front of the Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center on Gingerbread Lane Ext.

“Our goal was to make sure every single resident had a mask, and early this week we were able to quickly raise the funds needed to cover the cost. In moments like these, we must take care of our community,” Larsen said.

New Yorkers are mandated to wear masks in public to protect each other from transmitting coronavirus germs.
