Mattituck Jr.-Sr High School hosted the inaugural interscholastic North Fork Chess Tournament, drawing enthusiastic competitors from Mattituck, Riverhead and Southold Jr.-Sr. High Schools.

Under the guidance of chess adviser John Albers and Chris Strohsnitter, 24 students engaged in matches.

Riverhead’s team, led by adviser David Spinella, captured the top three positions.

Mattituck’s James Felakos reached the final four.
