28th Annual ELLEN’S RUN 5K Run/Walk

The Ellen Hermanson Foundation is proud to announce it will be hosting the 28th Annual Ellen’s Run, a 5K walk / run race on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at 9:00 AM, rain or shine, at the Southampton Intermediate School, located at 70 Leland Ln, Southampton, NY 11968. A free Kiddie Dash will be held at 8:30 AM! The 5K (3.1 mile) walk / run will be held in-person, as well as virtually. This time-honored summer tradition is named in memory of Ellen Hermanson – who passed away in 1995 after battling breast cancer – a journalist, activist, mother, wife, and sister of foundation co-founders Julie Ratner and the late Emily Levin. This beloved event raises both money and awareness to ensure access to state-of-the art quality breast health care and support services right here on the East End of Long Island. Named the best sporting event in the Hamptons by Dan’s Papers for several years running, Ellen’s Run welcomes runners and walkers of all ages. All registrants receive a t-shirt, commemorative bib and finisher medal.

All participation – whether as a runner, a walker, a donor, a sponsor, a volunteer – and all funds raised support critically needed access to breast health care on the East End of Long Island. Funds raised support direct breast health services and programs in our community in partnership with Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, Ellen’s Well, The Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center, OLA (Organización Latino-Americana of the East End), The Retreat—All Against Abuse, and The Shinnecock Indian Health Center.
