"Revenge" Alum Josh Bowman to Play Jack the Ripper
Daniel lives—sort of. Josh Bowman, who played hunky hot mess Daniel Grayson on ABC’s Hamptons-set drama Revenge, is the latest series alum to land a high-profile new gig.
Bowman has been cast as John Stevenson, a charismatic surgeon who moonlights as infamous serial killer Jack the Ripper in the Kevin Williamson ABC pilot Time After Time, based on the novel by Karl Alexander and film adaptation by Nicholas Meyer. The science fiction story imagines what might have happened if H.G. Wells built a real time machine and used it to find and stop Jack the Ripper. Freddie Stroma will play H.G. Wells.
In addition to Bowman’s new job, Revenge fan fave Gabriel Mann (Nolan Ross) will also be returning to the small screen in Showtime’s crime drama Ray Donovan (starring East Ender Liev Schreiber). Emily VanCamp, who starred as Emily/Amanda, will next be seen as Sharon “Agent 13” Carter in Captain America: Civil War, which opens on May 6. James Tupper, who played slightly disturbed David Clarke, will appear in the high-profile HBO limited series Big Little Lies, playing the ex-husband of Reese Witherspoon’s character. And Amber Valletta, who played the villainous mistress Lydia Davis, recently starred in ABC’s Blood & Oil, which aired in Revenge’s old Sunday time slot and was canceled after 10 episodes.
Madeleine Stowe, who played Victoria Grayson and is notoriously selective about her acting projects, will appear in the second season of Syfy’s 12 Monkeys. Stowe appeared in the 1995 movie of the same name as Dr. Railly (played in the current series by Amanda Schull), but will be playing a 1950s mental asylum patient this time around. Her character is set to have a major story that kicks off in the season premiere on April 18.
