Stress Management Support Group
A crisis counselor from EAC Network’s Project Hope is offering a support group on stress management. The crisis counselor will lead a group discussion on stress, how it presents in the body, and ways to cope/practice self-care. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss their stressors and receive support from the group. The crisis counselor will demonstrate evidence-based stress reducing activities to help participants alleviate their stress.
EAC Network’s Project Hope provides remote, free, confidential, and anonymous emotional support to people in Suffolk County, who are struggling with issues around the pandemic. Through the emotional support helpline, some of the topics the crisis counselors help individuals with include anxiety, grief and loss, stress related to unemployment, and food insecurity. The trained crisis counselors offer a listening ear to anyone in need, help them identify and use stress-reducing coping skills, and, in some cases, provide names and information of agencies in their communities for longer-term help. The crisis counselors also offer public education and group support sessions.
A Zoom meeting ID and password will be emailed to all participants 15 minutes prior to the start of the event.
