The Creeks: Epicenter of the 1950s Hamptons Art Community

September 15, 2018, 6 pm7 pm.

Join us for the next event in this year’s Tom Twomey Series: “The Creeks: Epicenter of the 1950s Hamptons Art Community,” with Mike Solomon, Ossorio Foundation founding director.
Alfonso Ossorio expanded the consciousness of the East End arts community in its heyday, through his genius for the avant-garde. With his long-term partner Ted Dragon, they lived a storied life at The Creeks, their 57-acre estate on Georgica Pond. Their home became a mid-century center of the modern arts community, which included Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner, Willem de Kooning, and many others. Join us for this discussion with artist Mike Solomon, the leading expert on Ossorio, and his one time studio assistant.

Complimentary wine reception precedes program at 5:30 pm. RSVP “More Info”

An art exhibit “Mike Solomon: Variations” will be on view in the adjacent gallery, through October 12.
